About the past of Holland’s oldest city of Geertruidenberg is a lot to tell. The monuments and the ramparts, along which the guide you confidently show in 2.5 hours, give it. The large, ancient market square, lined by a double row of leilinden and many historic buildings let you feel the atmosphere of the Trade Center that Geertruidenberg in the late Middle Ages. Bastions, ravelins and moats stories about the later role as border fortress between Holland.
Tour City Hall
You will not be surprised, the former Town Hall of Geertruidenberg is prominently located on the market. For centuries this was the place from which the city was administered. The 18th century façade with stairs bordes has a crowning achievement with the image of Lady Justice. That recalls the time that in this building, in the Tribunal, law was spoken. A brief tour of the town hall can be included in the city walk.

Departure by yourself to the port Fishing to Hank, then go hang off at 2 p.m. for a trip of 1.5 hours with a solar powered boat through the national park “The Biesbosch” led by an experienced skipper/Guide. Enjoying flora and fauna through creeks and gullies and experience the sweet watergetij areas in peace.
